From March 16th to the 19th  we were blessed to work with a group from Watonga, Oklahoma. We were especially excited to be working with this group as their youth leaders, Jake and Shiann Johnson, are friends of ours who used to work with Way of the Cross Ministries.

On Monday, we took the group to two small villages in Mexico. After inviting the people to a service, we gathered together, played with the kids then started the service. The Watonga youth were well prepared with Spanish songs and testimonies and were eager to share the Gospel message with the Mexican people. After the services we handed out beans, gift bags and beanie babies. We had an excellent day and saw 26 people come to know the Lord as Savior between both services!

The next day we took the group to the dump and then to Playa Baghdad to do a beach outreach. At the dump the youth got a unique experience when many of the people would not leave their work to come to the service. Since we always want to take every opportunity possible to preach the Gospel everyone went out in groups to preach the Gospel to the people one-on-one. The response we had was amazing! At Playa Baghdad we had a good time flying kites with the local kids before starting the service. The Watonga youth were also able to do a skit with a powerful message as a part of the service. We had an unforgettable time preaching the Gospel by the Gulf and were blessed to have a total of 21 salvations for both services!

On Wednesday we had the chance to go to an orphanage and spend some time ministering to the kids there. We were all blessed to be able to play soccer, paint nails, hand out gifts and preach the gospel message to the 38 kids at the orphanage. We were also able to leave the orphanage with extra drink mix, toys and beans. After saying our goodbyes to the kids we went down the road a ways to hold our last service at a small village and turned out with a total of 24 salvations.

With a total of 71 salvations we had an awesome three days of serving the Lord in Mexico! We pray that we will be able to work with the Watonga Youth again soon!
